Hi all!
My study permit was recently declined due to:
I am not satisfied you will leave Canada based on the purpose of your visit
I am not satisfied you will leave Canada based on your personal assets and financial status
My husband and I own our own business (been going for 25 years). I showed that the business will continue going while we were away and it will be managed by the GM. My sister is a PR and they stated that we will live with them free of charge during our visit. I have in excess of $50 000 CAD. We own a home and several vehicles. My whole family is in South Africa (including our parents).
We have decided to try again - but this time on my husband's name. He is a qualified Millwright (Red Seal) and we thought it would be best to do a 1 year course in a Millwright-related trade. I think the direction of study I chose was our downfall BUT if he applies, the financial status & personal assets worry me as this will not be any different from mine. What else can one show besides our home/vehicles & business?
I got advice from a lady who went over on a study permit and said she was honest from the start and stated that she was not returning to South Africa but wanted to study in Canada and make a life there. Has anyone else done this?
We are wanting to eventually settle in Canada but we would have to return due to our business interests and family.
BTW we do not have enough points for EE - however if my husband flies over to Canada and challenges the Millwright Certificate, we will be able to apply through EE. I know there is a Skilled Workers draw every (2 weeks?) but the skilled TRADES draw is not as often. Does anyone know when the next one is and how often the draw actually is?
Sorry for all the questions and thank you in advance for any advice.
