Hello,
I have a valid study permit valid until 2018 but I will be withdrawing from studies after this semester. My partner has been paying my tuition but unfortunately we cannot afford international premiums anymore as he was laid off and we could not get a student loan through private banks.
We are submitting an open work permit application for myself along with the in-land family class sponsorship application later this week. It is my understand that I am not allowed to continue working under implied status if I do not register for classes next semester. Is it possible to ask for urgent processing of the work permit based on the change of conditions? Are there any other alternatives to continue my employment?
I was able to find the following information on urgent application processing on CIRC's website but I am not sure if it's applicable in my situation:
You face immediate loss of employment or loss of an employment opportunity because you are not in possession of proof of your immigration information. Include an original letter from the employer.
