I am going to apply for study permit. My Spouse and two Minors (Daughter 11 years & Son 08 years) will accompany. I am applying open work permit for my spouse and for minor I selected option Visit-All other types in questionnaire.

After filling the questionnaire, a checklist is generated. Following clarifications are required.

1. After list of all documents (mine), one more document is mentioned as optional named "Schedule 1- Application for a Temporary Resident Visa made outside Canada (IMM 5257)". Is this document mandatory to submit? What is the purpose of this documents?
2. Same document is available in my spouse check list. And the question is same as for me.
3. In case of both minors, one application document is required named "Application for Visitor (Temporary Resident Visa) made outside Canada (IMM 5257)". is it required to submit?
4. Similarly for both minors, same optional documents is required as in case of me and my spouse. Is this document also mandatory for minors?

Further after uploading all documents, what will be next, as only total estimated fee is mentioned & then next option available is to exit the questionnaire. How fee will be paid and how application will be submitted?
Your help is requested.

Thanks & Regards,

Answer is YES for 1-4

Once you exit questionnaire, you will go to submit application then takes you to where you will have to pay the fee

You need to apply for study permits for your kids. Your visiting visa applications for them will likely be cancelled/returned by IRCC. Every school-going child is expected to apply for Study permits prior to entering Canada now. In some provinces, some public schools are beginning to insist on SPs before registering children of temporary residents.

It means in study permit application for minors, school name/details will be left blank?
Yes. Put "To Be Determined". In the slot where you are asked to upload Admission letter, upload an LOE stating that you will enrol them at a school as directed by the Public School Board of the city you will be in.

I applied but got apporval for mine only while refused for all family members. I had applied OWP for spouse and VV for kids. Now I have applied for reconsideration and waiting for response. However its recommended to apply study permit for kids if they are 5 or more.

What were reasons for refusal? How are you eligible for reconsideration? If kids are of school age then apply for study permits.

Main reason for spouse was funds which were ample thats why applied for reconsideration. Lets see otherwise will reapply with study permit for kids.

So funds were the only reason and not general statement on not staying in Canada? You showed all cash funds to support 4 people in Canada? Would children need before and after school care? If so were those costs included.

Yes. Not staying in canada was not mentioned. I included cost in GIC as per requirement. 4000 for spouse 3000 for each kid plus 40,000 bank statement.

Did you order GCMS notes because reasons will be stated and may include concersn about funds and possible other issues. When does your program start and assume you are beginning your studies and not deferring,
