Hello all,

Situation
- Current Study Permit Expiry Date: End of August.
- I applied for Study Permit Extension at the beginning of July, but it has not been approved yet.
- I will get my program completion letter at September 10th (After my current study permit expires).

Issue
- I am worried that I won't get my Study Permit Extension approved (for whatever reason), and then I won't be able to get my Post Graduate Work Permit (as it needs a valid Study Permit when I apply).

Questions
- What options to do I have to prevent this from happening?
- If September 10th comes, and I still haven't received an update about my Study Permit Extension application, can I still apply for PGWP as I still have an implied student status?
- If my Study Permit Extension gets rejected, will I still be able to apply for the PGWP with a status restoration application?

Thank you for your help!

If u hv already applied for a study permit before its expiration then ur on implied status...if ur study permit ex doesnt come until september then u wld hav legally completed ur studies under implied stauts. I dnt knw if u can apply for a pgwp then. I dnt think cic wil reject ur visa extension if it only needs to be extended a few weeks ...

Thank you for your response, re3dv! Yeah there are no issues in terms of legally finishing my program under implied status. I'm just worried about the PGWP situation. And you're probably right, cic doesn't have a reason to reject my study permit extension, but I just want to be on the safe side.

Questions
- If September 10th comes, and I still haven't received an update about my Study Permit Extension application, can I still apply for PGWP as I still have an implied student status?
- If my Study Permit Extension gets rejected, will I still be able to apply for the PGWP with a status restoration application?
- One more: can I flagpole to get my study permit extension before the current one expires?
