Hello All,
So, I got my study permit approved back in December 2022 for the January 2023 intake at Humber College through SDS. I left for Canada on 28 Dec 2022. However, due to an emergency, I had to return back to India on 04 Jan 2023. My study permit is valid till 30 April 2024. As I've returned back to India, I withdrew from the course and got the fees refunded. As the emergency situation at my home cooled down, I re-applied for the same course in a different college (Sheridan College) for the May 2024 intake and also got the Letter of Acceptance.
I need to know if I have to apply for a fresh study permit or get an extension on the already approved one which is valid till 30 Apr 2024. I read a few articles and also referred to the IRCC website and it is mentioned that I need to submit the updated Letter of Acceptance through the web form if the deferral is more than 150 days. It is obviously more than 150 days.
I need to know the next steps. Can anyone advise? I haven't been getting any responses on my web forms.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks,
Parth

Thanks for the quick response.
Do I need to raise any web form to inform them about the same and wait for their response and then apply for a new study permit?
What are the success rates of my situation? But I'm sure there might be a few with a similar situation.
Would this affect the result of my new permit? Would it be considered a gap because I'm back in my home country. I have many questions. Can we start a conversation?

Just apply for a new study permit. Cannot tell you success rates as it will depend on the strength of your profile. Dropping out and leaving may come into consideration.
