study permit to visitor and back to study permit

hi there.
i am an international student in Canada.
came to Canada in 2015 and was given study permit time from February 2015 to September 4th 2019..switched program a few times and so was not able to finish on time(i have credit for courses)..extended permit from September 2019 to April 2021 and it was approved.
this semester (winter January to April 2020) ,was not able to go to school so i took this semester off. New permit expires April 2021 as i said..once i noticed i couldn't study this semester , i quit my job.
my question is, will i get in trouble ? i am planning on switching to a new school starting September 2020 and its a 2 year program at a college, i will be eligible to finish the program July 2022.. do u think they will extend the study permit from 2021 April to 2022 august or July?
also , do u think i will be eligible for a work permit in 2022

You will probably not get another extension. You were lucky to get the last one. You have not been serious about your studies and have not followed the terms of your study permit.

Also note that your study permit is technically invalid 90 days after you stop studying. The school should be reporting your absence to IRCC for your permit to be cancelled.

Well. OK.
I was planning on switching to visitor next month.. and then switching back to student before September..i already quit my job.
I didn't go to school this semester(Jan to April) cause of my mental health.

Regardless, you have little chance of being approved for another study permit.

You've been a student for 5 years without finishing a program, which indicates that you are not a genuine student. The fact that you are now taking 8 months off and starting a new program further highlights that.
