Hello everyone,
I am a student at McGill University from France. I was supposed to get a visa for four years (from sept 2010 to May 2014), but my passport expires on the 20th of October. I am getting it renewed. I am studying for one more semester at McGill only, but I would like to stay in MTL in the winter semester also. I think my original CIC certificate (and CAQ) are valid until May 2014, so I wonder if I can just renew my student visa until then, even though I only going to be studying for one more semester.
Alternatively (since I'd like to work at least part-time in the winter), do you think it would be wise to tell the truth, see what they say, get a student visa until december and in the meantime apply for a work permit for the winter?
Just weighing my options here, if anyone can shed light on this thing, thank you very much,
Corentin
