Study Permit Refusal

Hello,

I'm accepted by Seneca College to enroll in their one-year English for Acadimic Purpose program in September, 2010. I applied for a Study Permit 2 weeks ago in Beijing, China but was refused. The reason given was "you have not satisfied me that you are in intending temporary resident to Canada as defined by Canada's Immigration and Refugee Protection Act". Does it mean that they don't believe that I will come back to China after my study?

I'm disappointed but don't want to give up. I plan to try again and I'm seeking help. Here is my situation: I'm 22 years old. I went to Hungary to study undergraduate Medical program a year and half ago. But soon I found that my English was not sufficient for me to continue my study and Medicine was not my interest. So I quit and went back to China and started application to Canada. I explained my situation in my study plan. Also my aunt is in Canada and I indicated that during my stay in Canada I will live at her home so that my accomodation cost would be covered. Now my study permit is refused and I was wondering maybe I shouldn't have said that I have a relative in Canada. What should I do now? Will a letter of purpose help? How can I prove that I have no intention to stay in Canada after my study? Another question is that I have done the medical exam before my first visa application less than a month ago, should I do it again before I submit my second application?

Please Please advise !!! Much apprieciated!!

About your medicals, I think that you should do that only after you are asked to submit it by your Consulate...

I guess the mention of your aunt's residency made it apparent to the officials that you wont be returning back to china.

Exactly, the mention of yr aunt being in Canada and sponsoring yr studies will definitely show that u have a tendency for immigration and that the chances of u not returning to China after your studies is very high. What i would suggest is that the next time u make an application for study visa is not mention any relatives at all and not indicate or show anything related to the tendency to immigrate. The visa issuing office in China and developing countries, do not wish to see any chance of an visa issue resulting in immigration. As such, be very careful when u apply for student visa for yr studies in the future! Also try to show proof that u will return to yr home country after yr studies, prove by showing yr proof of property in china, yr parents in china, yr job status, or yr proof of any financial obligations or obligations to parents or anyone in china.

Hello, my friend wants to apply for the same program, English for Academic Purposes. Did you first apply for a full time program and after approval you got into this English program, or did you directly apply for EAP? If so, how much did you pay for one year? was it 12000? Thanksssss

hello
let me give you my experience
i am from algeria means from a developing country
i applied for an english as a second language (esl) course at a college in vancouver in september
but the rejected my application because of the following reasons :
they told me that i did not convince them that i will leave canada backing to my country after finishing my course because: my family ties in canada and in my country
i don't know why did they mentioned family ties in canada
but about my country .....i think i have to prove it with proprety like business of my parents or lands or shops ................every thing that makes you come back to your country
what i want to say is : when you mentioned your aunts it is not a problem ...i think it is something that help you more to get the visa
i am just a student and it is my opinion ...i don't know
god help you
