Study permit refusal. Leave canada immideately letter !!!

so getting straight to my question i landed in canada on aug 27,2013 with a 2 yrs visa. i went to sheridan college in brampton,ON. reapplied in oct 2015 for study permit extension and got the permit to nov 30, 2016.
my study permit expired 30 nov, 2016 but i applied on February 2017. the application came back as incomplete file from the immigration office on march 13,2017.
then i reapplied in may 5,2017 through an immigration lawyer who told me i have to restore status and apply for a permit now. i waited and received a letter from the cic office stating i have to leave canada immediately.

can anyone help me and suggest what should my next steps be??

It's too late for you to fix your status from within Canada. Your only choice is to leave and return to your home country. Once you have returned to your home country, you can try to apply for a new study permit.

Hopefully you stopped studying and working when your study permit expired in November 2016.
