Study Permit + Holidays?

Hello,
I'm on a study permit in Canada, and would like to spend my holidays in here after graduation. I know that as citizen of Poland I can come to Canada for up to 6 months without visa. My question is if that means I can stay in Canada after my study permit expires without getting any visa? (probably it does not work that way) Do I have to leave Canada and come back? Or maybe apply for some special permit?

Well, actually I was leaving Canada while on study permit and last time I arrived in the country was after New Year so even if 6 months counts from my last arrival I would still have couple of months.

i am not sure but u can leave canada and come back again on a visitors permit since u dont need a visa. just drive over to the US border leave canada come back in while coming in u will get a visitors permit. alternatively like syclla said apply for change of status

You are right. OP may leave and come back. However such a quick turn around (go to USA , turn around and come back) could be risky because officer at POE may not allow to enter after study permit expires.
