Hi My study permit expried on 30 September 2011

I was sent all my documment to cic on January 18.

I called the cic call center they said they received on January 24. Its still in process now.

My worries is I am trying to renew your Study Permit after it has expired over 90days I paid a restoration fee of $200 (for restoration of status) in addition to the $125 fee for the Study Permit application.

At the same time I knew it expired which is 29 December , and New Year Day s coming so I couldnt do anything.

I wonder that do I still have chance to stay here or there is no way I can do T______T

Hi,

1. Your only option is to leave/forget Canada. There is NO way for you. As a rule, you have 90 days from the day you went “out of status” to apply for restoration, but in your case its 114 days.
2. "As per rules", now you will have to apply from outside of Canada for a new study permit & you might be barred from applying for up to 6 months (with almost no visa/permit chances).

Consult a lawyer. May be he can get CIC to make an exception in your case. However, immigration lawyers aren't cheap.
