Study Permit from USA

Hello, I have admission for May 2020. I am currently in USA (indian citizen). With Biometrics closed in US due to COVID, I wonder how study permit will be processed for May. Has anyone applied for permit starting from mid-March for May 2020 sem? Can you please share your experience? Also please share how long permit processing is taking from US for indian citizens.

I am confused whether to defer admission to September or not. Thanks.

You don’t have enough time to get a permit at this point plus you may not be able to enter Canada. Defer to September.

Thanks for the reply. Can you pls clarify,
1. wht you mean by “may not be able to enter Canada”? is it bcoz of border closure and mandatory 14 day quarantine for international travelers?
2. Do I have to reapply (as new profile) for study permit with deferred admission letter to September? Or uploading new admission letter to my existing permit account be okay?
3. once i get permit from canadian office in US, can i enter Canada by traveling from India? As i have need to visit family back home once covid situation settles and before i start college in September

Just add updated LOA to existing application. Once visa is issued for September intake, it doesn’t matter where you fly from. I received my Study permit from the UK and travelled to Australia for the holidays then flew from Australia to Canada to study
