Hello,
I have a friend who wants to apply for a study permit. They have been in Canada with a work permit for around 2 years, but it expires soon and they still want to try and stay. Their work permit does not allow them to apply under CEC, though they may qualify under EE. They would like to try and apply to a post secondary school here and get a study permit for the period of their studies. The end goal is to find work in their field (which does qualify for CEC). Unfortunately, they don't meet the financial requirements to apply for a study permit (10k + tuition). I'm willing to declare that I would support them (financially or otherwise).
Would that be enough for CIC? Is there any other path my friend could take that would be easier?
Thanks!
