Study permit extension - moved funds

I applied 4 months ago for my study permit extension. I attached proof of funds from my PI, as well as the bank statement of my own account.
Well, as COVID happened and biometrics were on hold, I moved my funds to another bank account where I am now receiving much higher saving interest.
I read today that biometrics requirements are dropped these days and I assume my extension may be in a review soon.

What should I do with my money? I completely forgot about my application. Honestly, I think my PI's money should be enough, but if they check my bank account, they will see I have 0 dollars now. Should I move the money and lose my interest and wait? Do they check bank accounts at all? Would they ask me for an explanation of having 0 dollars before they reject me? Will it be suspicious if I suddenly move back my money into first bank account?

Thanks

if you already uploaded your bank statement, they will see you have enough funds even if you spend it after getting your bank statement. Don't worry too much.
