Study permit denied - reapply 6mths before start date

Hi, I applied for a course to start in August 2018 intake. This intake was full, so I was accepted into the Jan 2019 intake instead. So I applied for my study permit and have been rejected with 179b based on purpose of my visit. It also said I may re-apply within 6mths of my start date. I didn't realise you can apply too early? I am worried now that when I re-apply, I will now have to state that I have had an application refused! Will this go against me? I am worried thanks for any feedback or advice

ofcourse you have to state that your application was denied. There should not be any confusion about it.

That is strange... I got my visa on 26th feb for Sep 18 intake!
