Study permit delay.

I applied for my Canadian study permit about 8 months ago and I still have not received any update from ircc. I had to defer my program to the next intake and I have sent about 6 web forms and still no feedback. Withdrawing and reapplying again or hiring an immigration lawyer which one seems to be the best option for me now.

Have you had any status updates? Where are you from? You may want to reapply with updated LOA.

I am from Ghana. I have submitted a new loa long ago. Status still says in progress. Since may.
Permits from African nations take a long time. So if eligibility and background check have not started then all you can do is wait. You have sent many webforms and assume your last one was to update LOA to January intake.

@Naturgrl I have the same situation, applied in Jun, finish my pathway, sent the certificate by we form, ask for deferral for the next intake and sent the new loa by webform.

My application was inside canada(it’s been processed in Edmonton) because I had to do a Pathway required by the college so
I have a question, If for some reason they refuse my visa, I have to leave canada? Or Can I apply again?

You can reapply if you can address reasons for refusal. Usually if refused, you want to order GCMS notes to get full officer notes. Your issue may be that you applied for a study permit before you even completed the certificate, is that correct? That will delay your review as processing would be from when your program completed.

Hi Naturgrl, sorry to jump in between this discussion. But needed your opinion. Could you please check my thread once and share your thoughts?

Believe someone posted the thread on remote work. You can work remotely but not full time if you are working for an employer who has no Canadian offices, employees or clients/customers
Sorry didn't understand. I can work remotely part-time if the employer has an office in Canada? And full-time if the employer doesn't have an office in Canada?
How will IRCC or anyone else track if someone is working full-time or part-time remotely (and receiving payment in non-Canadian banks)?

do you think that we should apply to extend our tourist visa?
We are worried about get the study visa refused and don’t have time to wait the GCMS Note to see the refuse reason and then re-apply.

What is your current status in Canada? When did you enter Canada as visitors? You need to extend status if you have been in Canada for more than 6 months. Again, your processing may be taking longer because you applied for a study permit prior to completing your certificate. So you applied for a permit without being eligible.

I am bit confused regarding your post. I cannot work full time remotely even if the employer doesn't have office in Canada? Or you meant we can work full time it employer doesn't have office here in Canada?

You have hijacked a thread about study permit delay.

Not a good or bad sign. Background and eligibility are being reviewed so a normal part of the process.
