Study permit delay/Semester deferral

Hi there

If a study permit is not issued in time for your preferred start date at a college, and you need to defer your start date, what happens ito the study permit (in other words, do they take your start date into account, or just issue the permit regardless, and if it is received later than intended start date, can one delay departure long enough to tie in with the next semester start date, or must one arrive early, and just wait?)?

Also, when can one start working, only once one has started studying, or earlier, if arrival is earlier than semester start date?

In answer to the work question you can only start part time work once the course has started and not before. So regardless of whether the permit starts until in full time education you cannot work.
