Study Permit and Spouse OWP extension applications decision delayed

Hi, I applied for a study permit extension for my wife and my OWP extension in September 2024. None of our applications has been reviewed yet. After the application confirmation, I received a letter which confirmed 'you are authorized to continue working under the same conditions as your original work permit until March 03, 2025 or until a decision is made on your application'. I already raised a web form seeking more extensions as it might take longer to complete the study than the date mentioned in the application. However, my question is, if I do not receive an update, can I continue to work if it's past March 03, 2025? Please share your insights with any possible solution.

Yes you can continue working for sowp applicant. Right now, so many such applications are pending including ours.

Many of us recently received interim work permit extension as the processing time crossed 6 months timeline.

When did you apply? and has your extension on the application confirmation letter expired? And what they actually do when they start reviewing after the said extension time requested on the application. Do they still extend the permit for another 6 months or so? or since the time passed, is no more extension required?

June 23, 2024 combined application.

Confirmation letter expired in December but continued working on a maintained status. Received another email stating additional 180 days of extension on work authorization from the day original Confirmation expired, i.e. December.

Don't know if review started or not.
