Study permit and accompany children

Please i have a question.

1. My wife just git an admission for a postgraduate programme in canada and she's in the process of applying for her study permit. We have 2 son's age 5 and 3. I want to accompany her with the kids.

2. I have to apply for an Open work permit but am not sure what the kids will apply for (Is it study permit or temporary stay)

Assuming you are from a non-visa exempt country, your children will need TRVs.
