Hi,

Is it possible to get study permit approved by Canada Immigration after a study gap of 8 years ? When i check with immigration consultant i was informed 8 years study gap might have more possibility to get rejected. Do anyone here in this form has a similar experience before ?

People on here have posted with longer gaps. Ultimately all depends on why now you need to come Canada, current qualifications, proposed course and relevance to qualifications / work experience . Plus how any course will improve your prospects on return to your home country.

If you search thoroughly on this forum, you may find instances where people have received the permit with higher gaps. You should be able to justify the program that you are enrolling and it should be a way for your career progression. Try applying for Master's program based on your past education and experience

Yes. Employment history and choose a course which is same as my previous 2 year job title and current work. Its somehow related to my degree but not hte same course. So i tried to explain that i didnt had proper education in this field but just some experience on the field and in order for me to grow i need to complete this PGD.

Yes applied online. Interviewed on Feb 12th. Recieved correspondent letter March 31st. After that no decision. Still waiting. I did attach bank statement of 100k CAD along with 17k CAD Tuition and 11k CAD GIC. Also home owner documents, land, car, etc...

When you have longer study gaps the choice Of course becomes even more important. You must select a course that makes sense given your previous work and education history and the course must lead to career advancement. If you are the primarily income earner and you have a family whether it makes sense to leave your job and go abroad and pay high international fees.
