Study break gap

Hey guys,

Am an international student currently enrolled in a private institution in an 8 months diploma program that will be ending in May 2018. However,I want to join another school (a public institution) for fall intake so that i can be eligible for a PGWP (Post-grad Work Permit). Anyone who can tell me how long can i take a school break ? Will this gap affect my current status?

If your course was only 8 months how did you get a visa longer than that. You can change your college easily enough.

Your PGWP will be for your 2 year course

Earlier i applied for a 3yrs program in another province from my country, due to certain personal issues i had to stay in the province i am right now, thus did an 8mths program.

So does it mean i can take the May - Sept gap without worry?

You must modify your permit with name of new college. So if anyone takes a break of 4 months is valid?
