Student Visa Validity Confusion

Hi all,

I currently have a student visa on my passport, both of which are valid up to June 9, 2018.
I am currently studying in Canada, and I want to visit home for about 3 weeks in January. I am going to get my passport renewed soon to ensure that I have more than 6 months validity remaining on it.

I am confused if getting my passport renewed will also require me to get the student visa again. Please help!

no you wont need to apply for study permit again. The old passport and study permit would be fine. are you going home just to renew your passport? you can do that here by visiting your country's embassy. If going for other purposes then you might need to get more information as there could be some other problems you could face while returning back.
