Hello Experts..

I became a part of the EE pool today. I have 473 points overall. I believe this would get me an ITA in the forthcoming draw. Now, I also have Admission letter from Dalhousie University for Sep '15 session for a Qualifying Graduate Year course. Before being a part of EE pool, I had a plan to complete this course and then later apply for 1 year MACS from Canada itself.

Now, since I will get a chance to try my luck at Express Entry but it would take close to 6 months from now (at least) to get a PR (hopefully), I am confused on how to go about the whole process.

a) Will I have to show proof of funds separately for two different cases?
b) If I will be in Canda on Student visa already, will this create complications in my PR?

I may be naive in my questions' subject but I would appreciate if the experts can help me with some thoughts...

Regards.

IMHO, why don't you wait for PR first and then apply for course in next session.

You will save a hell lot of money by being a domestic student. Currently you will be paying fees as an international student

Thanks for replying Sumit. I appreciate it.

I do not want to defer my admission further. I want to be in Canada as soon as possible. I am already 30 years of age and my career not being on track is killing me! I will complete the one year course as an international student and then complete the next one year MACS course as a Candian with PR. Am I on the right way of thoughts?

It is highly unlikely that I will get a job via job bank before my course starts. Isn't it?

First things first, Can you please let me know if my way of doing thing would create any sort of complications in my PR?

Please go ahead with you plans. There is a possibility that you will get ITA soon, make sure you have all other documents ready to accept you ITA. This way you can get your PR before your school start, in this case you will pay as a local student.
Getting a job via job bank is highly unlikely at this time. Your best bet is to get an ITA, then PR. If for some reason school starts and you have not received ITA -> PR, you still are allowed to work off campus when you start school (20hrs a week). Main thing now just be proactive collect documents for ITA, make your resume, do online registrations on job sites.

guys i have a somewhat complicated situation if someone could please advise me the best course of action.

So my Pgwp expires on April 05 ,2015 , meaning I will stop working soon. I have applied for a study permit based on a post-grad admission . This puts me on implied status once my PGWP expires in a few days.

1. Now, considering I recv ITA after the expiry , does it create complications since I have also applied for the study permit while I am in the pool.
2. How does this impact the Proof of Funds requirement? I have read that those with Valid work permits or currently employed aren't required to show prrof of funds. But since, both the conditions won't hold true past april 05, what would I be required to do in terms of showing proof of funds ?

Thanks,

@shakashaka: Thank you for replying.

I would like to give your thoughts on whether I will have to show funds in two separate accounts...
a) After I get ITA,
b) For my Student Visa.

Do reply..

Unless you are currently authorized to work in Canada and have a valid job offer from an employer in Canada, you must show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family after you get to Canada.
In this case you will need roughly 12,000$ in your bank account. But You might have time to Bridge your work permit.

If you have received an ITA, my suggestion is to accept it by submitting all the required documents. You will receive AOR which you can use to bridge your work permit. Do a search on this forum for BOWP and see other people are saying.

I believe you will have to show you have sufficient funds for both (ITA and student visa). For ITA is roughly 12,000$ for student visa might be higher usually cost of school for a whole year and living expense. This is on assumption that you are applying for student visa immediately and not waiting for ITA to apply for PR.

I am not able to apply for bridging permit - I haven't received the ITA yet and I don't have the LMIA either. However, I do expect to receive an ITA in the coming weeks.
So, considering I have a valid PGWP until april 05 , do You think it's okay to show the statements for the past 6 months highlighting the income I've been receiving bi-weekly. From my understanding, those who are already working here on a valid permit aren't required to show proof of funds.

But , in my case I will stop working starting April 05, and I didn't have 12K in month in my ac all this time as that was not the requirement for CEC applicants currently working. So in this case, do I still need to show 12K? If yes, can I have my parents wire it to me after my permit expires on April 05? Theres not a way for me to show 12,000 in my ac for the past 6 months.

Any advise pls?
