Hi,

I had applied for a student visa from Pakistan Islamabad Office in the year 2011. My student visa was rejected in early 2012, however, I am not able to locate any official corresponding specifying the reason for visa rejection.

I am now applying for PR and need to mention the details about my earlier rejection. I only have the file number with me. Can anyone help me identify how can I find the reason why my student visa was rejected?

Moreover, my passport number had changed since than, do I still need to disclose this information?

Thanks in advance

Yes, you need to disclose the student visa rejection, even if your passport number has changed. CIC will find out. If you can't find the official correspondence regarding your rejection, write an LOE (letter of explanation) explaining that - tell them you can't find the correspondence, and provide the file number. You can include any speculation about why you THINK you might have been rejected (I believe the most common reasons for student visa rejections are inadequate proof of funding, or failure to demonstrate enough ties to your home country that will alleviate concerns about you trying to stay in the country illegally after your studies end), but just be completely straightforward and upfront with CIC about the whole issue.

Thank you :).. I have ordered notes from https://caipsgcms.com/order. This has the complete details about my student visa rejection and supporting documents submitted.
