Hi Guys,

My sister has applied for a student visa in Canada. She has got admission in one of the universities already. She has a dependent(her husband). Any idea how long it would take for her to get visa?

I don't think her husband is going to affect her chances or her speed of getting a visa. It would be based on the individual's profile. SDS is supposed to be done in 45 days and the regular processing is 5 weeks as on date.

Great she has applied on Nov 5th. Medicals passed for her husband , her medicals are yet to be passed. What is the normal process? I mean the steps.

Once the medicals are clear then the decision process will happen. How long that takes is anyone's guess.

First, you submit the documents, if you didn't submit medicals beforehand then they will ask separately, once that passes then the visa officer will see the case. In India standard time frame is 5 weeks so if it goes more than that you should use the CIC web form to see what has happened. Do note that the standard service guarantee is 60 days which is 2 months.
