Hi

I have applied online on October 7 from London for a Student Visa. I am british and my husband is an Indian Citizen with PR in the UK. I have applied for a Student Visa and my husbands open work permit. I was just wondering on average people have received an outcome for their application?

I have recently completed my BA in Business Management and have applied to do a diploma in Human Resources in Centennial College Toronto.

Thanks :)

I am planning to apply visa in next week. I am from Sweden and I will apply online as well. My application will be handled by the London office. I am going to George Brown College for post graduate program. When did you apply for the visa? Do you have any idea how long they usually take to give visa? It is written on their website that they take 7 weeks but I am wondering if they give visa less than 7 weeks or not.

Hi

I have applied on October 7 but not yet heard anything about my Visa. The website now states it takes 9 days to process in London? It has gone from 7 weeks to 9 days.

Since you're Swedish, your online application will (likely) be processed at CHC-Vegreville instead, and the relevant processing time will be the one for applications submitted *inside* Canada. So according to this page, it's now 21 days. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp.asp. Source: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2011/ob304.asp. I'm Finnish, applied online, and got the whole process completed electronically in 12 days.

canadastudentvisa, where did you get the 9 days from? It still says 7 weeks on the CIC website for London and 8 to 10 weeks on the actual London Visa Office website. I don't think you should be worried yet even though you haven't gotten your study permit as quickly as some of the other Europeans here - your Indian husband's TRV and work permit will likely take some extra time to process, compared to just a simple study permit application for a single visa exempt student.

Hi elokuu,

I am not Swedish. I am originally from Bangladesh and I am in Sweden with work permit. I guess it will take approx. 7 weeks in my case :( Btw, do you have any idea about the success rate of getting visa from London office?

Hi

thank you for your response. I must have misread the website, it did seem strange changing to 9 days. I hope that I will hear from them soon as I am very nervous about the application. My sister and brother in law will be financially supporting us from london and have provided all of the necessary documentation therefore I am nervous that the Visa Officer may not accept our application.

Good luck to everyone applying :)

Have patience. I think you will get the visa. Don't worry about it.
Please let me know once you get any response from them so that I can calculate the visa processing time.
Good luck :)
