Student visa from India for non SPP college

Hi All,
This is Vijay Ramaswamy from Mumbai, India.
I have been admitted to the MDM program at the Center for Digital media, SFU, Vancouver.
I have my medical test tomorrow and will be submitting my paper application at the Mumbai VAC the same day. I had the following queries. It would be great if you guys could help me out with the same.

1. The GIC Certificate. Is it mandatory. I will be showing enough funds in my parents accounts as liquid assets which will cover my tuition and living expenses. I have got a certificate from a CA stating the same. I have NOT applied for any loans.
2. In what sequence do I compile my forms while submitting the papers to the VAC? There are 2 checklists and several forms. which check list comes first?
3. Finally, how long does it take for a paper application to get approved from the Mumbai VAC?

Anyone from Mumbai who has applied or will be applying, please share your experience regarding the application and paper work.

Vijay.. I think you can go ahead and submit your application tomorrow. Your medical results will take about a week to get to the embassy but it will take roughly 10 days or so for the Visa Officer to make a decision.

I dont think it will be an issue. Worst to worst it will delay your processing by a week.
