University is nothing to do with visa.

You get Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from the University (TRU) and you get VISA (if any) from Visa Office (VO). So, what are you talking about: LOA or visa?

If people were rejected VISA something wrong is with their situation and/or provided documents to VO.
If you would like some suggestions you should tell more about your case.

I guess he/she wants to say that TRU repute is not good or something because people who applied with this institute for their VISA got rejections in the past.

I read a lot of comments where they have mentioned that their student visa got rejected at the VO as TRU does not have a good reputation and the VO thinks that the students attending TRU have other ulterior motives. Also for a TRU MBA program, no GMAT is required which counts against the students. I am not sure but just generally curious if thats really the case

No, it is not true. People just like to blame everything and everybody for their failure but not themselves. ;)

TRU is not a research university but educational, if you understand the difference. But there not many research universities in Canada, most of them are educational.

Concerning GMAT for MBA at TRU - I am surprised to hear that because even LAST year there was a request for GMAT for MBA.

that is true. i believe they stopped asking for GMAT starting this year.
I believe you. I am just surprise why they did that? I suppose not many students applied for MBA at University in small town. But I do not think it is the only one university "without GMAT" in Canada.

Bull Shit , TRU never required GMAT score; I still have offer letter for last fall intake and yes it is very low ranking university and have high visa rejection rate due to that ....Pls don't suggest people wrong things until u have real world experience

"To be admitted to MBA program, students must meet all of the requirements for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Business Administration and complete each course in the certificate program with a minimum B average (GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.33) or be exempted from the course by the MBA Admissions Committee based on the previous academic record at the undergraduate or graduate level. A GMAT score is not required for admission to the MBA and there is no minimum professional work experience requirement."

This then begs the question:

How does one know if a particular university has a high rejection rate? Are there any stats published regarding the same?
On these forums people mostly who get denied visas post, majority of the people who get their visas don't tend to share their stories
