Processing time usually show 3 weeks but I haven't got any update.

Status : on background check
No update after that.

If you are a visitor before 24th August.. just apply for work permit.
I think you are eligible to apply for LMIA..
See cic news last week. There was a post that visitors are eligible to work temporarily.
