Student permit will expire in 2 months. Am I able to leave Canada for a short trip and then reenter?

Hello, my student permit will be expired on March 31 2020, and I will renew my passport next week. I would like to leave Canada for a short trip after my graduate defence and come back to Canada in February to submit my thesis to apply graduate. My question is am I able to do that, or I may be refused entry Canada. I can not apply to extend the study permit and not yet apply for work permit.

Student premit is not valid for reentry regardless of whether it is expired or not you need to check your visa validity

I see some post said it is better not to leave and re enter Canada within 90 days of the visa and study permit expire.

apply for extension in your visa that will work as your reentry study pemit extension can be applied within 90 days after the expiration for study permit

You should be fine to leave and re-enter while your TRV and study permit are still valid. Will you be applying for a PGWP after? Do you expect to have your PGWP documents prior to March 31st?

Hi the situation is I am about to complete thesis and defence to graduate, so I am not able to extend my study permit. I did not apply work permit yet because I Do not graduate yet.

Yes I will apply work permit after but I am not yet graduate. My plan is have a short trip after defence then comeback to Canada to submit thesis and then apply to graduate. I have no idea if I am safe to come back to Canada with study permit and visa expire in 60days.

As I already said, it should be fine.

I asked if you will have the required documents to apply for PGWP BEFORE your study permit expires.
