I made an online application from Japan on June 12th. (So that is through the Philippines I think?) Have received no mail apart from the initial 'your application has been received' confirmation mail. I keep checking the MyCIC site for progress but there is none. Can anyone tell me if there is something I should be doing? How long will it be before I hear something? Any advice? ???

Hey there, I applied on 20th of June from UK and it got approved within 9 days (I am an exchange student). However, I am still waiting for my letter of Introduction.
I am not sure how this all works and how the applications are processed, but here (remove the white space):
www .cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp/students.asp#asia
it says that it takes 12 weeks for applications processed in Philippines to get processed. And the only contact they have on the website clearly says that you should only contact them if it is past the processing time. And since only half of that time passed, unfortunately, the only thing you can probably do is wait till September 4th...

But maybe I am wrong? I never managed to understand whether the table above applies for on-line applications as well.
I wish you all the best!!!

Thank you both for replying...Another student I know got a permit after about 6 weeks from Manila. Online applications are 'supposed' to be faster I think...
It's just the 'not knowing whether you've done it all correctly, and not being able to contact anyone to check' that has me worried.
My plane is booked for August 30th! I hope I hear before then!
