Student loan for international student

Hi there,

I saw on this website that international students can obtain a student loan under the same conditions as a PR holder or Canadian citizen.

When I called CIBC they told me I need to become at least a PR holder in order to get a student loan.

Provide link. What website? Canadian banks will not give students loans to international students. Get a loan from your home country.

Whatever website you're referring to.

International students do not qualify for loans in Canada. If an international student needs a loan, they need to secure that in their home country.
