I am an international student from Pakistan who will be starting her online classes with a Canadian University this fall. I just sent in my student visa application 2 days ago using the Student Direct Stream process. I heard that another method to apply for a visa has been introduced known as the Two-Step Study Permit process.
My question is that is there any benefits that we get from using the Two-step study permit process, which we won't get if we use the Student Direct Stream process? I just want to know that since I opted for the Student Direct Stream method, am I going to be at a disadvantage for not opting for the Two-Step Study Permit Process instead?
For the Two-Step Study Permit, they announced that anyone who applied before September 15th for the student visa, their online time will count towards the post-graduation work permit. My question is that will this same rule apply for those using the Student Direct Stream process instead? If I am using the Student Direct Stream Process, do I need to JUST apply for a visa before my classes start, or should I have received my visa before online classes start?
I just want to make sure that if I applied for my student visa using specifically the Student Direct Stream Process, then will my time online count towards the Post-Grad Work Permit? Even if I receive my visa AFTER online classes start? Please note that I know this rule applies to the Two-Step Study Permit, but I want to know if this rule also applies to specifically the Student Direct Stream Process as well?
Thank You
