Hi All,

I really need the assistance from all the senior memebers and also from those who have the knowledge regarding this query.I am currently on a student status in the UK with my wife & a kid. Can my wife(dependent) apply from the UK for Canadian Immigration (Professional class) having her M.A Economics degree from Pakistan supposing she carries all the points required. Many have told me that she needs to go back to pakistan in order to apply for Canadian Immigration.

Your advice is really needed and appriciated.

Kind regards

Hi Shugal,
I do not see the reason why she can't apply, inasmuch as she meets the eligibility criteria.A dependant in the UK is eligible to work full time in the uk. Do all your background check and am sure all will be well.

Hi
in my opinion,if she has been living in UK for atleast one year with a legal status, she is eligible to apply for Canadian Immigration.
best of luck

Yes she can. Why not?
If you have been living in UK at least one year , your wife can apply as a main applicant.
good luck

She does not have to live in the uk for one year to apply. She should be legally admitted to uk for one year ie that when she gets the uk student visa the visa should be valid for minimum of one year for her to apply. In that case she can apply on landing. Read the eligiblity criteria says that you should be legally admitted to uk (or other countries which are served by london) for one year (or more) but does not say that you should have actually lived for one year.

Hope this helps.
