Hello Everyone,
Please help me. I am married with 4 children. I want to apply as an international student with my family. Please can you advise me the best way to do my application. I already have my acceptance letter.
I read that the spouse of an international student can get an open work permit. Do I apply at the same time when I make the application as a student?
Thank You for all the information thats possible.
:D

Your spouse can apply for an open work permit to come with you to Canada and your children can apply for visitor visas - however there is no guarantee they will be approved.

Since you want to bring your whole family here temporarily, you will have to satisfy CIC that you and your family have no plans on remaining in Canada long term. You'll need to provide strong proof of ties to your home country. You will also need to demonstrate that you have enough additional money to support your family while they are in Canada.

I expect it will probably be difficult for all six of you to be approved to come to Canada. However you can certainly try.

Hi,
My wife and I applied to go with our 4 children, she had a college place and we had enough money for all of us. We were refused twice, the reasons were purpose of visit and family ties. The thing we did wrong was let an immigration company to deal with our application it cost us a fortune and in my opinion they tried to mislead the visa officer. We have applied again for a third time and are awaiting the out come, it only takes 2 weeks from the UK, so any day now. We told the whole truth in this application that we had dual intention of studying in Canada and looking to possibly come back as a PR or on a work permit in the future. I read on the CIC website that you cannot be refused for having dual intent, I would advise reading all you can about the process before applying. I belive honesty is the best way forward, don't be disheartened people have been accepted with families and don't lie or mislead the visa officer as you can be banned from entering Canada for 1-5 years for misrepresentation. Good luck hope you find a way. ;D

It also depends what you're studying in Canada. If you're coming for a Phd or Masters - that will work in your favour. If you're coming to take a lesser level of education - then you'll most likely look like someone who's attempting to use a study permit to immigrate with their family.

Hi, I'm so sorry to hear your bad news. Do you mean that your wife only applied SPP this time and got refused with same reason as well?

Actually I am on the same boat. I did apply SPP for myself (master 2y) together with OWP for my spouse & 2 Visitor visa for my 2 kids. My 1st app was online and got refused after 1 day. My 2nd time was through VSF with some added documents & properties and got refused after around 6-8 weeks (not remember exactly) with the same reason.

I had request to defer my course to next term but haven't received confirmation from the uni yet.
Once I get the new letter from the school, I am going to reapply SPP for me & my 2 kids. I couldn't live far away from my children.
