From July 1, 2012, until January 2013, Citizenship and Immigration Canada will temporarily stop accepting applications to the Federal Skilled worker program.

what is that mean? i applied under qsw on june 2012?

federal and qubec r two different streams for immigration to canada..they have paused the federal program till jan2013....not the qubec.

My husband and I have been trying to get our consultant to send in our completed application package to CIC since April; they dragged out the process, til we received the news that they would stop accepting applications for FSW as of July 1 2012, by which time our application was still just sitting there while they made absolutely no attempts to send it in! We think it's very unfair as time is of the essence and we've been trying to get this process off the ground ever since last year! Now they are telling us that they did in fact send in the application to the Sydney Office, Nova Scotia, even if we don't have arrange employment and that we should not worry! We don't know what to believe as there is no evidence to prove that this in fact took place! Help!!! confused and utterly frustrated!!!

If your consultant submitted the FSW application on July 1st, 2012 or later and you don't have an arranged employment offer in Canada, your application is going to be automatically refused and returned unprocessed.

Even if your consultant submitted the FSW application before July 1st, 2012 (e.g. June) - it's still going to be refused since the 10,000 annual application cap for applications without a job offer had been reached.

You need to get rid of your consultant - he clearly has no idea what he's doing.

June 2012? It means u r completely safe.
