Hello, I am an American Citizen and have been living in Canada with my Canadian boyfriend of 4 years since May 27, 2015.
Upon my initial entry I managed to get approved to stay for no more than 6 months, I eventually applied for another visitor extension online 30 days before my visitor visa expired on November 27, 2015. I have been staying in Canada on what I believe is an implied status.

Since the beginning of my visit I had been planning to attend the local University to which I applied and was accepted. I then proceeded to apply for a study permit inland, that application was refused as I applied incorrectly. :-[

I finally decided to contract a Visa worker around January or February and re-applied for a permit with an outland application through them. After waiting for about a month I received news today that it was approved! The only thing between me and my study permit is that I must now exit and re-enter the Canadian border to get the permit processed and released.

The problem with that is I am still on an implied status and have been for quite a long time as I am STILL waiting on a decision for my visitor extension application that I completed back in November.

I've read online that leaving Canada on an implied status will cause the status to lapse, I am afraid that this will negatively affect my study permit's dispersal and possibly be the cause of refusal for my re-entry to Canada immediately or at all.

I am supposed to begin my first classes this Summer in June.. I just want to go to school, guy's. :(

It really depends from which country in America you are from, as some countries in the continent are visa exempt and others not.

I will assume you are from an American country that does not need a TRV to enter Canada (Chile for example). In that case you can leave the country and reenter, no problem at all.

If you are from an American country that does need a TRV then you will need first to have a valid TRV and then you can leave and reenter the country.

Being on implied status by itself has no effect on your study permit on re-entry.
