still confused about the E-CAS status information

I am sponsoring my wife, my sponsorship was approved in Aug last year and then the case was transfered to Beijing office for processing. My wife got a email in Sept last year from BJ office saying they've received the application and since then there's no further update.
If I log in E-CAS using my UCI, I can see two columns of status, one is "Sponsorship application status" and the other is "permanent residence application status". A few weeks ago, the two statuses were "Decision Made" and "Application Received" respectively, now the "sponsorship application status" changed to "In Process" and the other status remains "Application Received". If I clicked the "In Process", the information is the same I saw before with "Decision Made". I'm very confused now what this could mean. does it mean BJ office has started processing? but I suppose if that's the case, the change should be in "Permanent Residence application status". Or is it simply a mistake considering there was technical issues with the website?
can anyone suggest when your case got processed in a foreign embassy, where's the status change happened?

It's probably ecas having troubles still, so don't think too much into it.
For your case: the first stage is done, so you should see "decision made" under "sponsorship" part, and not in process.
For the PR application: application received, and it's good because you got an AOR from Bj saying that they have your file.
For now, there is nothing else to do or to see on ecas... it's mostly waiting... ecas is not very reliable and not always updated... your VO might be working on your file but it doesn't show on ecas.... My application went from "application received" to "decision made" in one day, and that was it - no communication from the VO, and no "in process" to tell me that they were actually working my file etc...
So - the changes in ecas don't mean much, as it's not always updated.
