I would like to know different steps in LMO and their time lines. Lmo was applied on Apr 9 and service canada contacted employer(confirming company details) this week. Is it slow or fast? And what are the next steps?

What will be your job in canada? If I'm not mistaken issuing LMO application is stop...

Only food service sector has stopped (some other related like hotel and some low skill administrative positions)
The application for an LMO can take anywhere from 2 to 10 weeks, depending on the location of the job offer in Canada

Are you sure ONLY on THAT position?or sector? Are you aware of what's happening right now in canada? Did you read some news? Or you just read few news about temporary foreign workers? But you didn't tell what will be your job in canada?

This lmo is for 2174 (software developer). I am sure lmo processing is only closed for food industry.

Exactly...did you read the 9th row?
Effective immediately, ESDC will no longer process LMOs for occupations in the Food Services Sector.
do you see something different in what I said? if you look to the noc codes are food related, hotel and hospitality and some low skill administrative ones

But then how much time does service canada generally take to contact the employer for the first time? And what are the next steps?

Yeah I know I'm aware of that but have you read also about the temporary foreign program?

Based on what I've read here in forum usually 3 to 5mos it depends to service canada or esdc my friend who is software developer also got his lmo last dec. For 14 weeks

I have been following about tfw. Right now the ban is only on food industry. However, some strong new rules are expected in the coming weeks as hinted by minister.
