I just wanted to know the steps after obtaining citizenship ceritificate. Can i surrender indian passport and apply for canadian passport at the same time?

Yes, you can do that. But, if you are planning to apply for OCI, you can surrender your Indian Citizenship and apply for OCI at the same time.

So, if you are planning to apply for OCI as well, I'd wait until you get the Canadian passport in hand and submit Surrender + OCI application together.

Hi, thank you for your reply. submit Surrender + OCI application together. meaning BLS has two separate forms/ procedure for OCI and passport surrender. did you mean just do it at the same time?

Yes, you must fill out and compile all the documents necessary for OCI and surrender. You can submit both these applications together (at the same time) to BLS.

No, that's specific to people from India (or Indian origin). OCI = Overseas Citizenship of India. It is something like having Permanent Residence in India (Indian constitution doesn't allow dual citizenship).
