Staying Out of Canada during BC PNP Application period?

Hi, I have completed my MASc from UBC (Vancouver) and planning to apply for BC-PNP program in January 1st week. However, I will be in Bangladesh from Jan 7-March 10. I heard CIC calls applicants for contacting the applicants to verify the address. So does anybody has the similar experience? Can I stay out of Canada during pnp application period and whether I can use Bangladeshi phone number for communication?
