staying 2-3 days in vancouver before proceeding to winnipeg

hi!

my daughter and i are moving to winnipeg this march 2011 (our visas expire on march31). we've been issued visas via manitoba's provincial nomination program.
anyways, i booked tickets for us flying out of the philippines, with a 5-hour stopover in vancouver, then taking a connecting flight to winnipeg that same day.

well, my US-based parents and sister came up with this great idea. from seattle, they'll drive to vancouver and pick us up at the airport. they're proposing me and my daughter stay in vancouver for 3 days max with them before heading out to winnipeg.

is this short vancouver stay / sidetrip allowed?

since vancouver is my point of entry either way, i'll do my landing / immigration processing there, right? will immigration people take this (the vancouver side trip) against me? ???

would appreciate your advice so everyone's travel arrangements can be finalized.

Recently, immigration has been cracking down on people who come through PNP and they do not believe are going to go and live in their PNP province. However, if you arrive with tickets to Winnipeg in 3 days time and explain to them that you want to spend 3 days in Vancouver with your US based family, I don't think there will be a problem.
