I 'm on work-permit in Canada for the last 6 yrs. Now I 'm applying for PR under CEC. I came to Canada in 2008 on work-permit which is valid till June-2011, so is the TRV. In Feb-2009, I lost my job but continued to stay in Canada as I have valid TRV. I found a job in Aug-2010 and have a job ever since and on subsequent work-permits. Now I 'm applying for PR under CEC. In the application form I need to fill in last 10 yrs of status (employer/location/address) etc. What should I fill in for the period Feb-2009 TO Aug-2010 (period for which I was unemployed, but living in Canada). This is the item #8 under "Personal History" for form# IMM5669E. I filled - From: Feb-2009 To: Aug-2010 Activity: Unemployed City: Toronto StatusInCountry: Work-Permit NameOfCompany: Unemployed. My question is about "Status In Country" and "Name of the Company" (where I filled in the stuff marked RED). Are my entries correct ? Appreciate your help

Your entries are correct. You are allowed to have valid status on a work permit while unemployed.

Your status is determined by your immigration document; in this case Worker.

Your employment or lack there of doesn't change your status.

You filled it in correctly.
