Status of Baby born in Canada

Hi,

I was wondering what would be the status of our child when he/she will be born here in Canada. Currently my wife is on a work permit and I have an open work permit. Our PR Application is still pending but I think the result will come after our baby will be born. Hope someone could answer to our query. Thanks.

Canadian citizen.

Your baby will be Canadian but it doesn't give you or the mother citizenship just the baby.
