I recently got married to my long time Russian girlfriend/fiancee. We got married in Tbilisi, Georgia in Feb. All marriage documents were translated, apostilled as required and Georgian marriages are recognized in Canada. She is fluent in English, has no criminal record, etc. I know bringing a spouse from Russia to Canada isn't as simple as it used to be because of the ongoing war and poor relations between Russia and Canada. If anyone has a similar situation to mine since Feb 2022-present I would love to get some feedback on how the process went for you. Ideally, I would like to apply for a visitor visa, and then a spousal sponsorship visa to get the ball rolling on PR. Do timelines and requirements defer for Russian citizens now, or is everything fairly identical to how it was in the past?
