Stage of my application?

Hi,
About 10 days ago, I received the CPCO-FinalRequest email from IRCC asking me
to send the passports through a CVAC center, which I will do in 2/3 days. However,
my account still shows the following:

Application status: We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.

Review of eligibility: We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.

Review of medical results: You passed the medical exam.

Review of additional documents We do not need additional documents.

Interview: You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.

Biometrics: We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes.

Background check: We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.

Final decision: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

So my question is:
1. Are they still going to review my eligibility even after they have asked for my passports?
2. What background checks are they doing? I have asked my employers and none of them have
received any inquiry from IRCC?

Congrats! This is PPR. Your application should be internally approved and they just did not update your application status until you submit your passport.

1. No. Your eligibility should be approved.
2.They are not doing any BGC as your application has been principally approved.
As I said, they just did not update the status on your CIC account. This is completely normal.
