Dear All, I applied for PCC from chicago. I did not have any response even after 90 days. Per their policy, I can move to stage two now. Should I send passport, applicaion, proof of address only or should I also submit notarized copy of my H1B visa?
Thanks.

Where was your passport issued from? If it was issued from Indian Consulate in Chicago, you can get PCC in 2 days. If it was issued from some other place in India or any other Indian Consulate overseas, you will have to wait for 30 days to get clearance and then send your passport for Stage 2. To get clarification, I would recommend you to call their helpline number between 2 pm and 4 pm. Keep redialing the numbers as the lines are busy. I think there are 2 numbers. Also try 2-4 numbers up and down the series of the numbers listed on the website. Idea is that these other numbers probably will belong to someone in the consulate. Someone will answer and transfer your call to the concerned person or they will help you out as well. Whoever answers your call, tell them you have been waiting for over 45 days now and the matter is urgent. People at Indian Consulate in Chicago are very nice and good. It's just that they are extremely busy. I have been to the consulate several times for various reasons and every time they have been really helpful. I never understood why it takes an Indian to leave India to be productive! Just some food for your thoughts! Hope this helps.
