I'm a husband with 2 kids. We came to Canada on Dec 2013. We made a refugee claim on March 2014. They rejected our claim at the RPD so we decided to go to RAD to do our appeal. The RAD confirmed the RPD decision.
On 2015 we asked a judicial review from the federal court. We also submitted an H&C app on Aug 2015. The federal court responded and scheduled our hearing which would be held at Sept 30th 2015. A couple weeks before the hearing date, we got a letter from CIC saying that we got the AIP. So our lawyer informed the federal court and they agreed to put our case on hold until the H&C process completed.
On Dec 2015 we got the letter from the BRO asking us to complete the mandatory requirements for applying permanent residence. In this letter they gave us 60 days to get the police clearances, copies of our passports, and pay the RPRF. We got everything done in 2 weeks.
So my questions are :
1. Why didn't they asked us to undergo medical exam? Is it because we already did one when we filed the refugee claim and we never leave canada ever since, although I'm aware it should be expired by now.
2. Are they going to ask for our original passport at some point ? (which were seized by the CIC when we filed our refugee claim)
3. A classic question. How long and how far are we until the end of the tunnel?

Thanks. And sorry for the long and awful post.

1. Wait. CIC will ask for medical if will be necessary.
2. Don't worry about passport (if its not expired) you will get it back at time when you get PR.
3. Usually between stage 1 and stage 2 - around one year. May be more if will need more Security or criminal check.
