Spouse's name change required?

Dear friends,

I am in the process of completing my spousal sponsorship application as I was married recently. I was wondering whether it is required to change her last name after marriage?

Let say, her name before marriage was ABC.XYZ. I was thinking to keep her name unchanged or do I have to update her name to ABC.MYNAME?

My motivation for doing so is that her current passport mentions her name as ABC.XYZ which I can't change at the moment cause she has a trip coming up in a week or two. Does it affect the application in any way?

She can keep her last name, it doesn't matter. I haven't changed mine and have successfully sponsored my husband for PR.
