Spouse working remotely from company outside Canada

Hello everyone,

Recently I got a job offer from a Canadian company through the Global Talent Stream process and my wife will have an Open Work Permit like me.
My wife currently works remotely for a company outside Canada. The thing is: can she still works for this company while we are in Canada? If so, does she need to pay or proof something to the government? Anyone knows how it works?

Another quick question... do you guys know what is the validity of the Open Working Permit issued through the Global Talent Stream?

I am also in a similar situation . I have an open work permit. However, I plan to continue working for my present employer [ UK company ]remotely from Canada. Is there any proof that i need to show the Canadian government ?

In our case, she had to submit Along with her application a letter from the company saying that she will keep a remote job while living in Canada.

To keep things right, it’s important that you pay all the taxes as a self employed in Canada.
